UMHB Women's Soccer Falls to Howard Payne

BELTON (October 27, 2012) --The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team said goodbye to eight seniors Saturday afternoon in Belton as they fell to Howard Payne University 2-0. Jasmine Austin, Darla Gregory, Sarah Hayward, Camryn Powell, Jordan Powers, Sarah Kathryn Robinson, Tori Seiler and Jenna Womack all donned their Lady Cru jerseys for the last time in the loss.

After a scoreless first half, Howard Payne’s Leslie Jones put two shots in the net for the Lady Jackets to give Howard Payne the win. The Lady Jackets outshot UMHB 8-5 in the match. Maizey Cardy led the Lady Cru with two shots while Powers, Seiler and Nathallie Morales each recorded one. Robinson played 77:18 in the match, recording five saves and allowing just one goal.

The Lady Cru finishes the season at 6-8-2 overall and 3-7-2 in American Southwest Conference action under first-year head coach Barry Elkins. Howard Payne moves to 6-9-0 on the season and 6-6-0 in conference play.
