UMHB Softball Player Claims ASC Conference Honor

Belton (April 19, 2012) -- University of Mary Hardin-Baylor softball player Rebekah Ragsdale has been named American Southwest Conference West Division Pitcher of the Week for the week ending April 15th. Ragsdale, a sophomore right-hander from West Orange-Stark High School, tossed a pair of complete-game, shutouts to lead the Cru to a series victory over Schreiner University last weekend. Ragsdale pitched a one-hitter and a three-hitter, striking out six and not walking a batter over the weekend. She has now won her last six decisions and takes ASC West Division Pitcher of the Week honors for the second straight week.

The UMHB softball team is 24-13 overall and finished 20-4 in ASC West Division play this season. The Cru will close out the regular season with a non-conference doubleheader at Houston-Victoria this Saturday. UMHB clinched the ASC West Division title with the series win over Schreiner and will be a #1 seed in the ASC Championship Tournament next weekend in Farmers Branch.
