UMHB Tennis Player Claims Conference Honor

Belton (March 7, 2012) -- University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women’s tennis player Angelie Juaneza has been named American Southwest Conference West Division Player of the Week for the week ending March 6th.

Juaneza, a freshman from Katy Morton Ranch High School, went 3-0 in singles play last week. She posted straight set wins in singles against University of the Southwest and Sul Ross State and then came from behind for a three-set victory for UMHB’s only win against regionally ranked Trinity University. Juaneza also teamed with AshLee Bilbo for a win at #3 doubles against Sul Ross State.

The UMHB women’s tennis team is currently 3-2 overall and 1-0 in ASC play on the spring season. The Cru will return to action with a home dual match against U.T.-Dallas on Saturday, March 17th.
