UMHB's Bell Claims Conference Weekly Honor

Belton (December 17, 2012) -- University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men’s basketball player Kitrick Bell has been named American Southwest Conference West Division Player of the Week for the week ending December 16th. Bell is the second straight UMHB basketball player to earn ASC Player of the Week honors this season.

Bell, a junior forward from Fort Bend Marshall High School, posted back-to-back double-doubles in helping lead the Cru to a 3-0 record last week. He averaged 16.0 points and 12.3 rebounds per game over those three contests. Bell poured in 28 points and grabbed 16 boards in a victory over U.T.-Dallas and added 13 points and 12 rebounds in a win over the University of the Ozarks to close out the week. He shot 62 percent from the floor in those three wins.

The UMHB men are currently 7-2 overall and 5-0 in ASC play on the season. The UMHB men return to action with the Cru Holiday Classic on December 28th and 29th.
