UMHB's Diaz Named To D3Football.com Team Of The Week

Belton (September 18, 2012) -- University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football player Silvio Diaz has been named to the D3football.com Team of the Week for his performance in the Cru’s 32-25 road victory over then 3rd-ranked Wesley College last Saturday.

Diaz, a junior defensive tackle from Leander High School, record three sacks, 3.5 tackles for loss, six total tackles and a forced fumble in UMHB’s victory over the Wolverines. Two of his sacks came in the fourth quarter as the Cru stuffed Wesley’s comeback bid and he led a defense that held the Wolverines to -4 rushing yards and 290 yards of total offense.

UMHB is now 2-0 on the season and ranked second in the nation in both major national polls following the victory over Wesley. The Cru will return to action with a 6:00 PM kickoff at Trinity University (2-1) this Saturday in San Antonio.
