BELTON (May 24, 2013)—University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men’s basketball Coach Ken DeWeese has been named Small College Men’s Basketball Coach of the Year by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches.

“It is always nice to be recognized by your peers,” DeWeese said.

“But this is really a credit to our players, coaches and our program. It was a special season and I am very pleased that our players and coaches were able to experience this kind of success this year,” he said.

It’s the third such honor for DeWeese, who led UMHB to a 27-6 overall record and took the men’s team to the NCAA Division III National Championship Game for the first time in the program’s history.
