Vince Young Cites 'Betrayal' For Financial Woes

DALLAS (September 20, 2012) -- Former NFL quarterback Vince Young is downplaying the impact of financial problems he says resulted from the "betrayal" of trusted advisers.

The former Texas star, released in August by the Buffalo Bills, wrote on Twitter: "Yes, I need a job, who doesn't. Yes, I want to be out there playing the game I love and earning a paycheck, who wouldn't?"

Young's tweet said he's working to rectify "unfortunate" losses stemming from "betrayal by those I trusted most."

Young is suing his former agent and a financial planner claiming they misappropriated $5.5 million.

The post came after an Associated Press story detailed Young's legal entanglements and quoted his attorney as saying of the quarterback's financial status: "I would just say that Vince needs a job."

Young has declined interview requests.
