HOUSTON (March 12, 2013)—The Houston Astrodome hasn’t been fit for occupancy since 2009 and hasn't been home to a sports team since the Houston Astros moved to their new downtown baseball stadium in 2000.
And no one’s sure what to do with it.
Harris County commissioners Tuesday took no action on a proposed multi-million-dollar bond issue to overhaul the vacant 48-year-old stadium, which means the proposal won't be put to voters this spring.
What was once known as the "Eighth Wonder of the World" languishes next to Reliant Stadium, home of the NFL Houston Texans.
