Rangers Prospect Suspended For 50 Games

NEW YORK (June 29, 2012) -- Texas Rangers prospect Jake Skole, a former first-round draft pick, has been suspended for 50 games for testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance under baseball's minor league drug program.

Skole was selected No. 15 overall in the 2010 draft out of Blessed Trinity High School in suburban Atlanta. The 20-year-old outfielder, who plays for Class A Myrtle Beach, tested positive for an amphetamine.

The commissioner's office announced the ban on Friday and said it was effective immediately.
