WACO (October 9, 2013) -- For the second straight year and third time in program history, Baylor has been selected to host NCAA Championship first- and second-round women’s basketball games. The NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Committee announced its selections for host sites for first- and second-round games and regional contests today.

Baylor hosted its first NCAA Championship contests in 2002 when it welcomed Bucknell, Drake and Syracuse to the Ferrell Center. The Lady Bears downed Bucknell, 80-56, in first-round action and fell to Drake, 76-72, in the second round. Baylor's attendance of 19,192 for 2013 NCAA Championship first- and second-round games ranked highest among all sites.

“I am very pleased that we were selected to host games in the 2014 NCAA Women’s Basketball Championships. It is a tribute to our fans, our team and administration that we were chosen to host again. Both times we’ve hosted our fans have been very supportive and I know that has a bearing on selections.” said Baylor head coach Kim Mulkey.
