MORGANTOWN, W. Va. (October 9, 2013) – Baylor picked up its first Big 12 volleyball win Wednesday night at WVU Coliseum sweeping the Mountaineers, 25-23, 25-20, 25-22. The Bears (9-11, 1-3) used a balanced offensive effort hitting .299 for the program’s sixth-consecutive win over the Mountaineers (15-3, 2-2).
Thea Munch-Soegaard collected her ninth double-double of the season, leading the Bears with 11 kills and tied for the team-high with a dozen digs. Zoe Adom added 10 kills while neither Laura Jones or Tola Itiola had an attacking error while recording nine and seven kills apiece.
Baylor’s had control of the first two sets early and took victories, but West Virginia built leads of 16-10 and 18-12 before the Bears stormed back to close the match with 15 of the last 21 points to take the match.
