(May 1, 2013) -- The Hill Rebels sweep a conference doubleheader with the McLennan Highlanders Wednesday in Hillsboro.
Hill took game one 4-0 with Jamie Bittle taking the loss on the mound.
All four runs came in the bottom of the fourth inning. Billy Germaine doubled and Mason Paxton drew a walk. Dane Burman then singled to score Germaine. Adonis Askew followed with a double, scoring Paxton and Burman. Askew stole third and scored on a single by Bryce Stark.
The Rebels defeated the Highlanders 6-2 in the nightcap with Kody Hessemer taking the loss on the mound.
Hill began the scoring with one run in the bottom of the fourth as Justin Arrington singled and scored on a double by Brett Murray.
The Rebels added three runs in the sixth. Murray singled and Keaton Miller was safe on an error. Germaine followed with a home run over the left field wall to clear the bases.
Andrew Rhodes' solo home run in the top of the eighth put the Highlanders on the board.
Hill's final two runs came in the bottom of the eighth. Murray singled, moved to second on an error, advanced to third on a passed ball and scored on a double by Miller. Germaine was hit by the pitch. Burman followed with a fielder's choice that put Miller out at the plate. Askew then singled to score Germaine.
MCC rounded out the scoring with a run in the top of the ninth as Cole Calder was safe at first and advanced to second on a Hill throwing error then came around to score on two passed balls.
The teams will complete the four-game series with a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday at Bosque River Ballpark.
