(April 15, 2013) -- The McLennan Highlassies swept the Hill Lady Rebels Monday afternoon in Hillsboro.
MCC took game one 4-1 with Veronica Garcia picking up the win in the circle.
The Highlassies began the scoring with two runs in the top of the first. Courtney Mica was safe at first on a dropped third strike and stole second. Kady Crow followed with a single, scoring Mica. Lena Capps was safe at first on a Hill error, moving Crow to third. Crow then scored on a ground out by Abby White.
Hill's only run came in the bottom of the first as Ariel Capella was hit by the pitch, advanced to second on a passed ball, moved to third on a ground out by Kailee Carr and scored on a single by Jodi Ekster.
MCC rounded out the scoring with two runs in the third. Taylor Davis singled but was out at second on a fielder's choice by Mica. Mica was then out at second on a fielder's choice by Crow. Crow stole second and scored on a double by Capps. Capps advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on a single by White.
The Highlassies shutout the Lady Rebels 2-0 in the second game with Tiffany Birdwell getting the win.
Both of MCC's runs came in the top of the first inning. Davis led off with a single. Mica then reached first safely and advanced to second on a Hill error, bringing Davis in to score. Mica then scored on a single by Crow.
The Highlassies return to action on Wednesday, hosting Weatherford for a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
