(March 13, 2012) -- The McLennan Highlassies swept the Vernon Lady Chaparrals today in Vernon.

Kelly Smith picked up the 2-0 and 9-5 wins in the circle for MCC.

Alli Akina was 2-4 with two doubles and two RBIs to lead the Highlassies at the plate in game one. Abigail Kester and Veronica Garcia were both 2-3 in the first game.

Jessica Smith led the Highlassies at the plate in the nightcap, going 3-4 with an RBI. Akina recorded a double and an RBI. Kester was 2-3 again and picked up 2 RBIs. Garcia also recorded two RBIs.

MCC returns to action on Saturday, hosting Weatherford for a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
