Revelette Named Director Of Baseball Operations

WACO (August 9, 2012) -- Baylor head coach Steve Smith announced the addition of Adam Revelette to his staff as director of baseball operations on Thursday.

Revelette will handle all practice and game video needs for coaches, coordinate team and recruiting travel, manage equipment and assist with on-campus recruiting visits, compliance and student-athlete services. In addition, Revelette will have a leadership role in the Baylor Baseball Academy.

“I am excited to have someone of Adam’s ability and character join our staff,” Smith said. “He will be a great addition to the Baylor baseball program and to our entire University family.”

Revelette joins the Baylor program after spending the last two seasons as an assistant coach at Transylvania (Ky.) University. He served as the Pioneers’ pitching coach, assisted with recruiting, coordinated team travel, organized practices, managed camps and clinics and handled scheduling. Revelette guided the Transylvania pitching staff to a 4.10 ERA in 2012, the second-lowest in the modern history of the program.

In addition to his coaching duties, Revelette has also served as associate editor of Inside Pitch magazine since November 2011. He was responsible for writing, editing, planning and production of the magazine, which focused on providing cutting-edge information about the game of baseball. Revelette also spent the past three years as general manager of the Lexington Hustlers in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League.

Prior to his time at Transylvania, Revelette played four seasons of professional baseball in the Minnesota Twins organization and in the independent Frontier League as a left-handed pitcher. Revelette was named a Frontier League All-Star in 2008 when he made 14 starts for the Gateway Grizzlies.

A Lexington, Ky., native, Revelette played four years of collegiate baseball before signing with the Twins as a non-drafted free agent in 2006. He played two years at Dayton before transferring to Kentucky for the 2005 and 2006 seasons. As a junior in 2005, Revelette logged 25.1 innings of work over 21 relief appearances for the Wildcats, and he helped UK to the 2006 SEC Championship.

Revelette graduated from Kentucky with a communication degree in 2007 and he is currently pursuing a Masters of Business Administration through an online program offered by Indiana Wesleyan University.
