Belton (February 28, 2013) -- The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women’s golf team opened the spring ranked #4 in the country in this week’s Golf World/WGCA Division III Coaches’ Top 25 Poll. The UMHB women totaled 322 points in this week’s poll to match their final fall ranking.
Methodist University retains the top spot this week with 15 first-place votes and 375 total points. Washington-St. Louis is ranked second and Centre College comes in at #3 in the poll. The Cru is one of three American Southwest Conference teams mentioned in the latest poll. Schreiner University is ranked 13th with 176 total points and U.T.-Tyler is ranked 18th with 108 total points. This is the first Golf World/WGCA Coaches Top 25 of the spring.
The Cru women opened the spring schedule by beating every other Division III program in the UMHB Spring Classic earlier this week. UMHB finished second overall, falling 11 strokes behind Redlands Community College’s 311 total. The Cru women will return to action with the Jekyll Island Invitational on March 15-17.

Oglethorpe University retains the top spot this week with 11 first-place votes and 395 total points. The Cru is one of two American Southwest Conference teams mentioned in the latest poll. U.T.-Tyler is ranked 4th with 339 total points this week. This is the first Golf World/Nike Golf Poll of the spring.
The Cru men opened the spring schedule with an eight-stroke victory at the Schreiner Spring Shootout earlier this week. The UMHB men will return to action with the Mississippi College Spring Invitational next Monday and Tuesday.
