(December 6, 2007)--Two Texas A&M football players have been charged in an alleged armed robbery of a College Station apartment.

Police say 21-year-old Yemi Babalola of Bryan is charged with two aggravated robbery counts and one of misdemeanor marijuana possession.

Also, 18-year-old Brandon Joiner of Killeen is charged with three drug possession counts, one of them a felony.

Babalola was released Thursday on bonds totaling $52,000.

Joiner remains jailed in lieu of $16,000 bond.

The arrests were first reported by KBTX-TV in Bryan-College Station.

Police say one resident suffered minor injuries in the alleged Nov. 29 home invasion at the Callaway Villas Apartments.

Police say their investigation led to searches of both suspects' homes Wednesday, where drugs and other evidence were found.

A&M athletic spokesman Alan Cannon told The Dallas Morning News the school is aware of the situation and investigating.

When contacted Wednesday night, Associate Athletic Director for Media Relations Alan Cannon told KBTX-TV, "We take charges very seriously and will deal with the issue when all the facts are gathered, and we will cooperate with law enforcement."

Babalola started on the Texas A&M offensive line this season as a junior.

Joiner is a freshman defensive end.
