If any of you are like me, you won't be reading this blog today - at least not on your work computer. It's a national holiday. Or at least it should be. There are baseball games on TV from Noon until Midnight (including my Astros in glorious high-definition). It's Major League Baseball Opening Day.
I can honestly say, I never attended a single college class on Opening Day. Mine, or anyone else's for that matter.
So, I can't tell you how thrilled I was to receive this text message from my brother Ross, a freshman at Auburn, at 9:56am this morning.
"Following in your footsteps, I'm skipping my afternoon class in honor of Opening Day. Go 'Stros."
I've never been so proud.
Happy Opening Day, friends.
