While I know that nothing good can come out of this, (Honestly, how many of the nine of you reading this are going to come back in December and congratulate me if I get one of these right?) I've decided to make some fearless prognostications about the Big 12 conference season that gets underway this weekend. So here goes nothing... **Iowa State will go oh-for-the Big 12. **Ron Prince will be only conference coach not to return next season. He'll be fired after his Kansas State team goes 5-and-7 and misses out on a bowl game. **Oklahoma State will pull off ONE major upset from it's fearsome foursome of contests. Either at Missouri, at Texas, at Texas Tech, or home against OU. **Unable to avoid injuries to key players, Missouri will lose two conference games but still play in Kansas City as North division champs. **The 2008 Heisman Trophy winner will hail from the team that wins the Big 12. **Even though no Big 12 team will be undefeated after the conference championship game, the conference will be represented in Miami. A Big 12 team will play for (and lose) in the BCS national championship game. *** Okay, this has nothing to do with Big 12 football, but despite currently having the 3rd worst scoring offense in the conference, I'm here to tell you that Auburn will be represented at the SEC Championship. And you probably won't even have to look at Tommy Tuberville's pumpkin-colored sweater vest. This weekend, my brother Ross (he's been a subject of this blog before) helped lead his fraternity 3-on-3 flag football team to the Auburn University Quaker State SEC Gridiron Challenge Championship. He and three of his buddies were victorious in the campus-wide competition (Ross caught the game-winning TD in overtime of the title game), but pride and a cheap t-shirt aren't all they are taking away from the tournament. Quaker State is sending my brother and his teammates to Atlanta for the SEC title game, putting them up in a hotel, giving them tickets to the game, and hosting a 12-team 3-on-3 flag football competition against the winners from the 11 other SEC schools. Pretty sweet, huh? War Eagle and War Winkler. |

Oklahoma State WON'T beat Texas Tech in Lubbock, since osu has not won there since 1944.
