Now that the NFL regular season has wrapped up and the 2009 draft order is set (2009 NFL Draft Order), the NFL Mock Draft season has really kicked into high gear.

And from all indications, it looks like Baylor senior offensive tackle Jason Smith will be the first Baylor offensive player selected in the first round of the NFL entry draft since running back Walter Abercrombie went 12th overall to the Steelers in 1982.

Since 1965, only two Baylor players have been drafted in the top 10 overall picks.  If things play out right, the 2008 All-American has a chance to be number three this year.

Here are 15 of the latest NFL Mock Drafts and Smith's draft projection.  Notice that only one, AP Football, does NOT have J-Smooth being taken in the first round.

Out of these 15 projections, four have Smith going to the Eagles and three others have him going to the Redskins.  So that means seven out of 15 mock drafts have J-Smooth landing in the NFC East, which would bring him back to Texas for a game against his hometown Cowboys at least once EVERY season.

In the 2008 Draft, for first round picks 10 through 20, the average contract was worth $19.6 million.

The 2009 NFL Draft will be held April 25th and 26th in New York City.
