Back on September 29th, 2008, I threw THIS out there.
If for some reason, that little link doesn't want to work for you, here's a summary of the Big 12 Bold Predictions (in bold) I made before conference play started, and what became of my prognostications (in italics under prediction):
***
**Iowa State will go oh-for-the Big 12.
**Iowa State's 2008 Big 12 Record? 0-and-8.
**Ron Prince will be only conference coach not to return next season. He'll be fired after his Kansas State team goes 5-and-7 and misses out on a bowl game.
**K-State did, indeed, go EXACTLY 5-and-7 AND miss a bowl game AND Ron Prince was shown the door. But thanks to Auburn running a guy out of town (Tommy Tuberville) who "only" went 84-and-40 in 10 years, I blew this one. Gene Chizik left Iowa State after the season to take over the Tigers.
**Oklahoma State will pull off ONE major upset from it's fearsome foursome of contests. Either at Missouri, at Texas, at Texas Tech, or home against OU.
**This one didn't take long. The Cowboys went to Mizzou on October 11th and beat the then 3rd ranked Tigers 28-to-23. But it's a good thing they pulled off their upset then, because OSU later lost at UT (28-24) at Texas Tech (56-20) and at home to OU (61-41).
**Unable to avoid injuries to key players, Missouri will lose two conference games but still play in Kansas City as North division champs.
**It wasn't because guys were hurt and couldn't play, Missouri just flat COULDN'T play. The Tigers lost to OSU, Texas, and Kansas in conference, but still represented the North division in Kansas City. Just not well. OU bombed Mizzou 62-to-21 in the Big 12 title game.
**The 2008 Heisman Trophy winner will hail from the team that wins the Big 12.
**Oklahoma's Sam Bradford won the Heisman Trophy one week after his Sooners smoked Mizzou in Kansas City. UT's Colt McCoy finished second in the Heisman voting. But the BCS will probably find a way for McCoy to come out on top. After all, that's what happened to the Sooners after Texas beat OU 45-35 on October 11th.
**Even though no Big 12 team will be undefeated after the conference championship game, the conference will be represented in Miami. A Big 12 team will play for (and lose) in the BCS national championship game.
**Oklahoma, NOT undefeated at 12-and-1 did, indeed, play for the National Title in Miami. But like his Sooners have done in their last five Bowl Championship Series games, OU lost to Florida 24-to-14 on January 8th.

See you next year. Unless I decide to quit while I'm ahead...
