My name is Josh Wucher and I'm joining KWTX as the new co-anchor for News 10 This Morning!

I'm very excited to join Emily and Brady on News 10 This Morning!

I'm coming all the way from South Florida.

I graduated from the University of Florida (Go Gators!) with a degree in Telecommunication. While working for WUFT News, the local PBS affiliate in Gainesville, I reported for and co-anchored a daily 5:30 newscast. My interest in politics led me all over Florida, reporting on the many presidential campaign stops during 2008.

I interned with WPLG Local 10 News in Miami and received quite an education in the school of news reporting. Last summer I spent ten weeks in New York interning for the CBS Early Show.

I love music and movies so when I'm not working, you can probably find me at the local movie theater or record store. In college I played drums for a rock 'n' roll band but I gave it up, so I'll just have to settle for "Guitar Hero."

I'm really looking forward to meeting as many people in the community as I can and becoming a Texan!

I really like your new HD local newcasts except, your stretch-o-vision mode for remotes is awful. KCEN doesn't do this nor does KUSA 9 in Denver. Maybe you can have the powers that be give us proper SD aspect ratios for non-HD remotes. At least your not wrecking the commercials. I watched ch 10 news for more than 20 years, until KCEN recently began HD local news and doing it right.

I've been watching KWTX for over 20 years. I realize you are not from Waco, but before you go on the air, you need to go over your material and learn how to pronounce common central texas names like Sykora. Additionally fibroids is pronounced f-eye-broids...not fib-broids.

Josh, I believe the correct term for displaying the flag at a half height position is called 'Half Staff'. 'Half Mast' is a term used by the navy aboard ships. At least that is what I was taught when I was in the Military. Might be good if you called it correctly with veterans day comming up tomorrow. Thought you'd like to know.

Thank you, so much, for the wonderful piece you did on my daughter, Holly Tucker. You did SO much with that minute, and a half. Great job of editing your footage, and crafting the story. We have had so many great responses, from our friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers. We are big fans, and we are watching. News Channel 10 is our spot.

Oh, Joycelyn, lighten up. I seldom see eye-to-eye with AARP, but they have the same freedom of speech as you and I do. A responsible reporter has an obligation to his listeners to see that all sides of an argument are presented. How else are we going make good decisions regarding which approach is the right one if we don't listen to all of them?
  • by Josh KWTX on Aug 13, 2009 at 02:28 PM
Joycelyn, I'm sorry you weren't happy with my interview but I was asking questions that most people at town hall meetings who oppose the plan voice. This is just one groups point of view and that's why we're going to talk with other groups to get their side of the issue. I understand you think I wasn't objective but I asked fair questions and when we get other groups on I will give them a chance to respond to their opponents' claims as well. Thank you for your input though.

Josh, I am very disappointed that the interview with the AARP was so contrived and not at all a true picture of what AARP is about. They are an insurance company that has a vested interest in Obama's health care in that they want to be one of the insurance companies to provide for the plan. You asked only questions that could be answered negatively. You were not an objective reporter but a shill for the liberal effort to make sure that 1/6 of the country's economy is under the control of the federal government. This is not socialism? Too close for me. Be a better reporter by asking questions that reveal truths, not the talking points of one side of the issue not the intents of the plan. I am looking forward to the next interview that you promised would show the other side with a more objective point of view.
