There is no getting around it... It has been a really hot summer in Central Texas. I guess the only good news is that we have seen worse!
In my previous blog I took a look back at the July of 1980, a month in which every day made it to at least 100 degrees.
I thought in this blog we would take a look at the hottest temperatures that have ever occurred here in Central Texas...

A few things that I noticed when I was putting this data together...
- August is typically the hottest month of the year, and as you can see 7 of the 10 hottest days have occurred in August.
- We had some extreme heat in the middle of August in 1969! August 10, 11, 12, & 13 in 1969 are all in the top ten!!
- For those of you wondering about drought conditions in 1969... We had a near normal yearly rainfall, and were a little above normal on rainfall in August. July 1969 was the 5th driest July on record.
- The hottest temperature we have had this year is 106 back on June 24th.
