I recently had somebody ask me who was the best high school football player I had ever seen play in person.  It took me a while to come up with an answer.  I've seen a ton of good players over the past six years in Central Texas, so coming up with just one wasn't easy.  Instead, I've decided to come up with my top 6.  Keep in mind that I've only been in this area since 2003, so I know there are probably some very good players I didn't get to see in years past.

* Tanner Brock (Copperas Cove) - Brock was a tackling machine for the Dawgs, and a pretty good fullback as well.

Perrish Cox (University) - Cox at times looked like a man among boys - both on offense and defense.

* Robert Griffin (Copperas Cove) - Griffin runs as smooth as any quarterback I've ever seen.

* John Hubert (Midway) - The Panthers just kept on giving him the ball in 07 and 08 .. and he just kept on delivering.

* Jeremy Sanders (Marlin) - Sanders could run like the wind and had a cannon for an arm.

Romance Taylor (Belton) - Taylor could do it all.  Run, pass, catch, and even kick.

What do you think?   Who is the best high school player you have seen in Central Texas.  I would love to know what you think.  Let me know in the comments section.

Dan
