Days until my wedding: 114
I have now been working out with my trainer at WRS Athletic Club, Gretchen Chiles, for about a week and a half. I have lost 11 pounds so far. And while that is great, I know that I could do better. The workouts have been great and I know I'm getting the job done at the gym. It's the nutrition side that I am struggling with.
Gretchen has been amazing with me so far. She is so patient with me as I learn all of these new exercises and she always has such a positive attitude. That's very helpful for me. In fact, on Wednesday, I "hit the wall" for the first time. I felt like I was spent. If I had been working out by myself, I probably would have just gone home. But luckily, with Gretchen pushing me, going home just wasn't an option.
All my life I've eaten like a guy (pizza, burgers, sweets, that sort of thing). I'm trying to change that, and I've done a pretty good job during the week, but I've struggled on the weekend. I'm pretty sure a hot dog with cheese isn't exactly what Gretchen has in mind when she tells me to start eating better.
One habit that I have been able to kick is my addiction to sodas. I used to drink about four or five regular (not diet) cokes a day. Since I started working out, I've only had one or two real cokes in ten days. I know that's a very good thing, and honestly, it hasn't been that hard to stop.
That's all for now .. wish me luck this weekend as I try to keep on eating better. The wedding isn't that far off!
