Getting Back Into Shape: Part 10

Thanksgiving .. the good, bad, and the ugly.

Days until my wedding: 44

Thanksgiving has come and gone, and it looks as though I didn't do too much damage.  I have now lost 38 pounds.  That is a four pound improvement from my last weigh in two weeks ago.   My goal of losing 50 pounds by the wedding is still within reach.  That said, I'm almost certain it could have been a lot better.  The reason: BAD FOOD!

I've still been going to the gym six days a week, but over the past two weeks or so, I've been really slipping on the nutrition side.  Thanksgiving is no big deal, because I told myself I would have some "fun" food that day.  It's the days before and after the holiday that hurt me.  I had McDonald's, chicken fried steak, chicken fried chicken, pizza, and way too much real Dr. Pepper.  It was a lot of fun, but I can't make a habit of this.  The next time I eat like this, I probably won't be as lucky as I was this time when it comes to my weight loss.

As for the gym, things are still going great with my trainer at WRS, Gretchen Chiles.  I've starting to hit the weight training quite a big harder.  I've done a lot of cardio and core work the past two and a half months, but Gretchen says it is time to start working on all of my muscle groups more.  I'm all for it.  It would be nice to have a "beach" body once again!  We'll see .. I have a long ways to go.
