With Winter right around the corner, what can we expect?

With temperatures slowly starting to cool, the winter questions are starting to become more common… “When is it going to get cold?” “Is it going to snow again this winter?” “What kind of winter can we expect?”

In short, we can expect the complete OPPOSITE type of winter than last year.

Last year we were in an El Niño weather pattern, which meant much colder and wetter than normal conditions. We even got snow here in Central Texas! This year we are in a La Niña weather pattern, which means we can expect warmer than normal and drier than normal conditions. This means it is very unlikely that we will see snow. Sorry kids!

Stay tuned to Weather 101 as well, as in my next segment I will explain what exactly La Niña is.
