Boot Camp Update, Week Five

So, obviously, I must be doing something right. Three people last week commented on how they can tell I am losing weight...so I guess running and dragging those tires has paid off!

Last Friday we had a great workout...part running, part abs, and part tire dragging. We've seen a new round of boot campers come in this last week; they're facing a lot of the challenges that we were all facing in the last go around. I think their struggles help my boot camp class to realize how much progress we've made in the last four weeks.

My big accomplishment came this weekend. Back in February I purchased a polo shirt on sale at Neiman Marcus. At the time it was pretty snug, but a really good deal that I didn't want to pass up. I told myself that I had to buy it and then work to fit into it. Sort of a way to test my own goals. Well this weekend I fit into it; with some room to spare I might add!

It is a small victory, but an important one none-the-less. I've really started taking a long hard look at my diet to see just how drastically I have changed what I eat. I notice a lot healthier eating at home...more veggies, more fruit, more lean meat. But, really, when it comes to eating out, I haven't changed things too dramatically. I've learned that if you deprive yourself of something you recall enjoy (IE, chips and queso or fried pickles) then you eventually fall off the wagon...BIG TIME. Just my own little dietary tip of the day.

If you've got any of your own, I'd certainly appreciate you sharing it with the rest of us.

Posted by: lory bill, my struggle isn't so much what i eat, but HOW MUCH i eat of it. portion control is my enemy. also, water is a workout's best friend...not the diet coke!
