Boot Camping My Way To The Race!!!

The countdown is on...only a few days left before the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

We've are all very, very excited for the Race. Julie and I will be emceeing the kickoff from the main stage. Emily and Brady will be working the start/finish line. Even though I will be sitting on stage for a big chunk of the race, Julie has convinced me to run.

I've actually been in pseudo-training for the race through my Waco Fitness Boot camp. My trainer, Jimmy, says that my stamina has been steadily improving. We ran a 3K in class...BIG ACCOMPLISHMENT.

Somehow Julie was able to talk me into going with her to the boot camp class she attends at our gym. This one is indoors, so I figured it would be a lot easier than running up and down hills pulling a tire...WRONG!!! The class kicked my butt! The first half hour was a lot of aerobic exercise...the biggest challenge was the co-ordination part. As Julie will tell you, I am not the most co-coordinated person in the world. The entire time we're jumping on these little stairs, going from standing upright to down on the floor doing push-ups...I'm thinking, "I'm about to fall and humiliate myself."

It really was a blast. I made it through that portion and the kickboxing class without throwing up...another personal accomplishment. So the countdown is now on...five days until the race! Hope to see you there!

Bill - you did great! In case any of you are wondering the "indoor" bootcamp is at WRS with trainer Gretchen Chiles and Master David Hill. It is an unbelievable workout! Bill...can't wait to see how it pays off come Saturday! See you all at the Race!!!!

Posted by: Lory Bill, you crack me up! Keep it up. She convinced me to show up in Waco at 6:30am before a full day of class for a similar project...when you drive an hour and a half to get there....6:30am comes early! PROUD OF YOU!!
