Blog Ideas Wanted

The powers that be here at News 10 are always hounding us about making these blogs interactive. With that in mind I am soliciting ideas for upcoming blogs.

Christopher is all out of funny and witty things to write (that's right I refer to myself in the third person).

In the past I have mused on the serious and not so serious. But now it is your turn. Give me an idea (please) on something to write about.

Here is how this will work. Submit your ideas as responses to my blog. I will then choose whatever one I want and write something that resembles a cogent blog on said topic.

To sweeten the deal I will even give credit to whoever came up with the original idea for the blog. Just think you can impress your friends and co-workers by telling them proudly that is was "you" who inspired me to fill almost a full 1/3 of a page on the Internet with my various rambling thoughts.

As far as I'm concerned this is the deal of a lifetime, the chance to work (for free) and help me do my job so that I don't have to. It's not that I'm lazy, just think of it as outsourcing.

I took the poll on weather or not to suspend the gas tax and suspending it is not the answer. What the govornment needs to do regulate what the profits these oil companies can have. While most of the American people are suffering from high gas prices the oil companies are laughing all the way to the bank. With the prices people are not going to to out and buy things that boost the economy. If you want to boost the economy, put the oil companies in there place.

How about alternative fuel. There's got to be a lot of smart people out there with some good ideas. What's the latest news on hydrogen fuel? Electric cars (Hybrid) seem to coming along good but electricity is getting higher if you ever have to charge them up from your electrical out-let at home. I think water as fuel might be the best if it would be researched more. Water is made up of oxygen and hydrogen (H20) Separated, they can easily be proccessed into a fuel. Mehtane is smelly I think. People who might want to ride their bicycle take a chance getting ran over by fast drivers in their large automobiles. Motorcicyles get better gas mileage but are also dangerous. What about Solar power? Have you discussed this subject before? This is my suggestion.

Controversial: Toilet paper hanging: over or under? Theological: Where is kingdom come and how hard would my momma have to slap me to get me there? Seriously, there are things I do want to know. What was it like covering the war, relying on others to protect you? I think of our chaplains who cannot carry arms, but relies on his/her fellow soldiers as they journey through deployment together. What are some of your favourite off camera moments during a typical broadcast? What are topics you'd love to see covered on air, but tend to get buried under other news bits?

If you play golf, blog the course. Blog out of the main stream eating places, cafes, diners, etc. You might blog places to go and stay or festivals in the central Texas area. Blog some of your favorite stores (small mom and pop). There are many things your readers are interested in. You can do it first and tell us what is best.

How about a blog on famous people who live in TX or were born here in TX?

I realize that Gordaon is reporting on vacation spots not far from central Texas, but you could do a blog on favorite places in Texas to visit.

You could write a blog about all of the wonderful people who work in Production on the weekends with you. I'm sure they are nice people.

Well my suggestion is to use subjects that have always interested you. Ir could be a good interest or a bad interest. Something that stumps you or intriques you. If you use subjects about yourself that most people wouldnt know otherwise you might be suprised at the response you get. Like something that has always puzzled me is when watching a sports game on TV do i feel the need to talk to the umpiresm officials, players, and coaches like they can hear me. I know they can't, but i still continue to do it. I know im not the only one who is guilty of this either. Its funny how you catch yourself talking to a movie, even after you have seen it a dozen times, knowing you cant change anything. Just a thought.
