Training For A 5K

I've decided to run in this year's Susan G. Komen Race For the Cure.  For a while I thought about participating in the one mile walk.  But then I realized that it was time to man up and train for the 5K.  I haven't run three miles since I was in college (back when I was an "athlete" and it was not that hard).  So needless to say, I have some work to do over the next two months.  I went on line and printed out a training regimen.  It's called the Couch-to-5K plan.  We'll see if it works.  I'm pretty excited to see how this goes.  If you are a runner, I'd love to hear any tips you have for me as I try to get in shape in two months.  I certainly need all the help I can get!

Good luck! I am starting a training plan this week for a 7/4 race. I will check back and see how you are doing. This will be my first race and I am 36 so my main goal is to just finish and not scare any little kids.

Just take it slow at first and work up to 3 miles..If you over do it at first then you wont accomplish your goals
