Each year, 870 voters across the county get to decide who wins the Heisman Trophy. This year the voters decided that the three finalists should be Sam Bradford, Tim Tebow, and Colt McCoy. We won't find out which one of these three quarterbacks gets to win the 73 year old trophy until Saturday night. But since I don't get a vote in who wins, I thought I would go ahead and let you know who the winner should be.
Earlier today I told a group of fellow reporters that I think Sam Bradford should win the Heisman. His stats are ridiculous (48 touchdown passes and no interceptions .. enough said) and he's led his team to the title game. That's enough to be a Heisman winner in my book. And while I still think Bradford can make a strong case to win the award, I've changed my mind. I now think Colt McCoy should win the award.
Why, you may ask? I'll tell you why. Spotlighting. That's right, spotlighting. Colt McCoy admitted on a national radio show that during the Big 12 Championship game, that's what he was doing.
