Getting Back Into Shape: Part 11

Only one month until my wedding

Days until my wedding: 30

The wedding is getting closer, and I have still have plenty of work to do (when it comes to losing weight).  As of today, I have lost 40 pounds in the three months that I have been at this.  My goal is 50 pounds by the wedding. 10 pounds in 30 days will be tough but I think I can do it.

The key to reaching my goal is simple: FOOD.  I have to eat the right kind of things most of the time.  That has not been easy during the Holidays.  It is sooooo easy to slip back into bad habits (late night snacks, real cokes, going back for seconds).  And unfortunately, I have been slipping quite a bit lately.  I am pretty sure that is why my weight loss has slowed down quite a big.

Luckily I am still hitting it pretty hard at the gym.  My trainer at WRS, Gretchen Chiles, makes sure of that.  Every time that I think I've gotten back into pretty good shape, she can prove me wrong by making me do a new exercise that kicks my rear.  The latest one involves me putting what is essentially a big rubber band around my ankles.  I had to to lunges and squats with it on.  And I was holding a medicine ball.  Needless to say I felt the burn after about 10 seconds!  But that is a good thing.
