Days until my wedding: 9
The wedding is almost here. I can't believe it!! I can't wait to marry the love of my life, Julie Richards. And I'm also pumped that I'll be a lot smaller when we recite our vows January 16th. I have now lost 45 pounds since I started working out in early September.
My goal lately has been to reach fifty pounds by the wedding. It might be tough to get those extra five pounds, but I'm going to try. More importantly though, I've changed my lifestyle quite a bit and I plan on things staying that way after the wedding.
Losing weight has made me feel a TON better. I can run four or five miles at a time and not pass out. I can play a pickup basketball game without needing an oxygen tank. And I don't get winded walking up one flight of stairs.
If anyone out there is thinking about getting back into shape .. I say go for it. I know it's not easy but I promise you that you'll thank yourself for it later.
Also, make sure you tune in to KWTX's News 10 This Morning Tuesday, January 12th. I will be on with my trainer Gretchen Chiles. She will share with viewers some of the things she did to help an out of shape ex-athlete (ME!) lose 45 pounds.
