New Years Resolutions

This week on NewsMakers we're talking about new years resolutions.  'Tis the season, right?  The obvious resolution is always "Lose Weight," so Sherry Aplin an Terri Kisely from the Body Resort in Temple came into the studio to talk about doing it right.  In my mind, setting the goal is way less than half the battle.  You have to figure out a way to meet the goal, and then maintain it.  I think that goes for any resolution not just weight loss.

I haven't decided what my resolution will be.  I don't always make a concrete list, but I do like to take a few moments at this time of year to kind of take stock of my life.  I think I am going to work on running again.  I really enjoyed running while training for the Miracle Match half marathon this summer, but I have fallen off.  When I was running I felt like I had so much more energy!  And it was nice to have that time set aside to be by myself.  Even when I get into a habit, it is still pretty easy for me to push it aside when I get busy if I don't put enough importance on it.

So I rambled a bit.  What are you thinking about new years resolutions?  Making them?  Or think they're worthless?

I think you should only make resolutions that you really plan on keeping. Think about them and plan before the 1st. It is important not to set your goal too high, then you will beat yourself up if you fail. Several years ago I set a goal to stop any and all tobbaco on the 1st. I did and was proud of it. I would love to say I am going to lose weight, but I love to eat tooooo much.
