Countdown to the Race

After months and months of planning and work, the race is now  less than one week away.  We need your help NOW more than ever!  Here at Channel 10, every staff member is working to raise at least 100 dollars by weeks ends.   Maybe you could try that with a group of your friends, or co-workers.

Although I know we are only days away, we still have a long way to go to get where we need to be.  The Komen Foundation supports education and early detection for women around the country. Most of the money we raise here, stays here at our central texas affiliate.  We are now in countdown mode, but you CAN still sign up online, or at the race.  We're hoping that Rusty helps us out with some great weather for the event.

Thanks to all of you who have pitched in to make this years event such a success. Kathy and Kurt Krakowian have worked endless hours to help put this event together, so have many people here on our News 10 staff.  So, in these last few days, help us reach and beat our goals! We need more walkers and runners, and we need more donations!  We'll see you at the Race!

Julie, I met you and Bill at the race. I am the teacher from Ellison High School in Killeen who walked at the Relay for Life Friday night and then came to the Race Saturday morning. I wanted to tell you that I was able to turn in a $100 donation of maoney donated by my 9th grade students. My classes raised a total of $300 which I split between the 2 events. I am very proud of them since this was just odd change dropped into containers in my classroom. It is a testament that teenagers can do the right thing. Thanks for your dedication to our communities.
