Hurricane Bill - Updated Wednesday at 1 pm!

Major Hurricane Bill is churning across the Atlantic about 400 miles east-northeast of the Leeward Islands.

Hurricane Bill, packing sustained winds of 135 mph, is moving west-northwest at 17 mph, with a turn to the northwest expected in the next 24 hours or so. Bill is forecast to remain a major hurricane for several days, passing near Bermuda over the weekend, and then turning to a more northerly course. The current track forecast from the Nat'l. Hurricane Center has Bill passing well east of the U.S. mainland, although until the storm makes that northward turn, New England and the Maritime Provinces of Canada will need to maintain a close watch.
