Draw the line in the sand because it is time to fight! Rivalry Week has arrived in college football, and there are a number of great games that will get fan bases across the country riled up!
I, for one, get riled up for Florida State's visit to the Swamp to face the hated Gators. My weekend will be great if FSU wins (it sure will make me forget about the rest of a disappointing season).
In fact, that's what one win against a rival can do for any team's season. You win this game, and the year doesn't feel like an entire loss.
For example, Texas A&M had national title aspirations entering the season. Now they're sitting at 6-5 and fighting for a decent bowl to play in. If they beat rival Texas on Thanksgiving night, that gives some solace to an otherwise underachieving season. The Aggies get a great parting gift as they head to the SEC.
From the Civil War (Oregon/OSU) to the Iron Bowl (Alabama/Auburn)....from the Border War (Ohio State/Michigan) to Good Ole' Fashion Hate (Georgia/Georgia Tech)...this is why we love college football, the institution of a natural rival you can love to hate.
I'm getting my hate on this weekend! (Go Noles...beat the Gators)
