I had a feeling, somewhere deep down, that there would be NBA games on Christmas.  Despite the ugly battle between players and owners during the lockout, I always had faith a deal would eventually get done. 

And the best part....I have something to run on Christmas Day!  So long 'Ricardo LeCompte Sports Bloopers from 2011' reel I was going to run as a backup.  (I haven't made the compilation yet, but if you are interested, I can always run in on New Year's Eve).

Before the NBA season tips off, here are some of my predictions for the upcoming season.  A shorter regular season, yes, but the intensity throughout the year and postseason, I believe, will be at an all-time high.

Most Improved Teams: L.A. Clippers, Philadelphia 76ers

Rookie of the Year: Kyrie Irving (Cavaliers)

Coach of the Year: Scott Brooks (Thunder)

MVP: Kevin Durant (Thunder)

Western Conference Finals: Thunder def. Mavericks in 7

Eastern Conference Finals: Heat def. Bulls in 6

NBA Finals: Heat def. Thunder in 6

Finals MVP: Joel Anthony...no wait, I'll take Dwayne Wade (Heat)
