Hello Central Texas! I just thought I would take some time to introduce myself and talk a little bit about my background. I was born in Virginia Beach, Virginia, to a family that consists of my dad, my mom, and an older brother. My dad was an officer in the Air Force, which is why just after I turned 1 yr old we moved to Germany. I spent the next 9 years of my life in Europe, the first 5 in Germany, the next two in South Wales, and the final two in Italy. My dad then decided to retire from the Air Force, and pretty much spin the globe to see where we would end up next, which then brought us to McKinney, Texas. I spent the next 8 years of my life in McKinney, graduating from McKinney High School in 2004. A twist of fate has me doing what I am doing now. I was always very interested in the weather, but never thought of making a career out of it. I originally wanted to go into the Air Force after I graduated college, and when I talked to a liaison officer about what my scholarly traits were, and how I could use them in the Air Force, he immediately said, "You need to study Meteorology and become a meteorologist!" Well, that's all I needed to hear to turn my love for weather into a Career. I then attended Texas A&M University as a Meteorology major. About 2 years ago I took a Broadcast Meteorology class, and that changed my entire plan for my life. I instantly fell in love with the idea of being able to use my knowledge of the weather to inform and help out a community. I spent that Spring Break driving all over Texas to different TV Stations to try to find a good place to do an internship. Then last summer, I landed an internship with this very station, KWTX Channel 10, and worked all summer and even some weekends during this past school year with the Doppler 10 Weather Team. I learned more while interning here then I could have ever imagined, and am very excited about my opportunity to continue to work here.
That was a little background about myself. A few other things about me... I speak German fluently, so if there are any Germans out there, I do enjoy practicing my German! I love to travel, whether it is to another continent, or just to a new city or community that I haven't been to yet... So you might see me driving or walking around your local community, because I have always believed that the best way to learn about a place, is to experience it. Please don't hesitate to come up and talk to me! Also, I am a fanatical sports fan. I love all Aggie Sports, Dallas Sports, and US and German Soccer. World Cup 2010 cannot come soon enough! You might also see me hacking up a local golf course. I took up Golf about a year ago, and needless to say, it’s been a learning process. Well, I think that is about all you need to know about me. If you have an other questions, feel free to email me! Take care.
