Here's a few more lines and comments from the lips and keyboards of Central Texans:
Branden Bonge of Valley Mills writes:
Rusty, I have watched you all my life. You are kind of a household name around my place. I have lived in Valley Mills and West all my life, but I think the live feed (live internet streaming) is a great idea and hope you do it more frequently. I will be watching, thanks for keeping us ahead of the storm.
Officer Thomas Pechal of Temple Fire Dept writes:
Mr. Garrett, Thanks for opening Killeen Safety Day with "Project Tornado". Sorry that I was not able to see you this morning. I was in the Special Events Building setting up the Fire Safety House presentations. I believe your presentation sets the tone for the day with the students and teachers. Thanks again for helping Central Texans stay prepared with Mother Nature.
Jaque' of Hillsboro writes:
I am so sick and tired of the constant barrage of weather interruptions on the tv channels! Is it necessary to break into the shows every time a clap of thunder sounds? I realize that tornadoes are dangerous and need to be covered, but must we hear about all the standard spring thunderstorms with a little wind and hail too?
John Malone of Waco writes:
Hi Rusty!! For many years my wife has been your biggest fan. She refuses to go to sleep at night until you have told her what the weather will be for the upcoming day. She is an elementary school art teacher and is always wondering what to wear for the next day which is usually dictated by what you tell her the weather will be like. In thinking of creative Mother's Day gift ideas, I thought about you! I was at Uncle Dan's BBQ recently and saw an autographed picture of you on the wall. Is there any way to get you to autograph a picture of yourself for my wife that the kids can give her for Mother's Day?? If so, her name is Karen and I could drop by KWTX to pick it up or you could mail it to my business address below. Thanks for your consideration of this request and thanks for the terrific job you do in keeping us informed weatherwise.
J & L Stark writes:
Well, you did it again. You broke into our show "Moonlight" and we missed some important story lines thanks to your needless and endless storm crap. I wish we had another CBS station to turn to when you get the notion to see yourself constantly on the tube. You know, not everyone is interested in storms four counties away! Can't you just scroll words at the bottom or wait until the storms reach Waco?
Matt Kuehl of Waco writes:
Hey Rusty, I'm now a senior Baylor aviation science student, but I have been watching you for years and have been a weather nut for years as well. Almost nothing excites me as much as a "moderate" risk from the Storm Prediction Center! I always thought that Waco needed some live streaming web coverage from our local forecasters and was so pleased to see you guys go to it tonight. I can't say how much fun it is to watch and monitor these storms. Of course I hate to hear of injuries from dangerous storms. I just want to say thank you so much to you and your crew there at News 10 for providing the expanded coverage of storms now via through the web! Just make sure it doesn't get too bad where it cuts off the power or internet so I can watch! Thanks alot!
Bob & Kelly Sloan of Killeen writes:
Rusty, Thanks for the New Great Technology (live web streaming on the internet). It is another reason why KWTX is my channel for the latest in news and weather. We know we can count on you and your team, ALWAYS... AWESOME.
Jared Breitkreutz of Marlin writes:
Rusty, I am enjoying the streaming of all the stormy activity tonight. How do you think this storm will affect my home, Marlin, Tx?
Shae Doty of Valley Mills writes:
Hi Rusty! I just wanted to say this online live stream is great. I have watched KWTX ever since you came to my school when I was in kindergarten. I am now in college at MCC and still hold a high interest in weather forecasting. I have always been interested in knowing the technology behind storm prediction. I discovered the live stream tonight and have officially been watching for an hour and 15 minutes now. This is more interesting than a TV program. I always keep a close watch on the weather because I am quite frightened by storms. I am from Valley Mills and I am curious as of now - does it look severe for me? I am ready for bed but I know I can't sleep until the weather calms down. Thank you and your weather team for always keeping a close eye over Central Texas.
David Samaniego writes:
Rusty, Keith and Brady...I like what you have made available to me. I am an "RV-er" and a local business owner. This is great! (live streaming on the internet) I know it must be a little hard on you all, but it's great for me. I am a weather buff, and if I had the chance to study weather in college, I would have. You guys are great together, I love to watch you over all the other weathermen in the area. It seems as though you know more by the way you present it. Thanks! Keep up the great work. I will be watching KWTX.COM for weather details beyond the regular news casts and break ins. I have learned a new way to appreciate your work. Keep it good!
