Kansas City is uphill.  I spent 75% of my jog this morning running up.  I didn't think the laws of nature allowed this, but I was mistaken.  Let's get this city level!

A little bit of a snafu at the Hyatt in Kansas City.  No ESPN2!  Typically this isn't an issue, except this morning Kansas played Texas Tech on the deuce.  I'll give Dan full credit for getting on our cable in our room.  He's a bulldog, at least the front desk thinks so.

Arrived at the arena this morning around 2 pm when the KU-Tech game was in post-game interviews.  Pat Knight had good things to say about Ekpe Udoh, saying he and Cole Aldrich were two of the best defenders in the country.  Hard to argue with Knight's assessment of the Nightmare!  The men take on Texas for the third time this season, and Texas isn't real proud of how the previous two games went.  This game will be tight all the way throughout, and I expect Damien James and Dexter Pittman to be a bit more liberal when swinging elbows around.  Don't expect 10 dunks from Acy, but he'll get a couple.  Baylor might get off to a rough start not being used to having the bye as well as playing the last game of the day.

Baylor women tip-off tonight without that 6'8" gal.  As a matter of fact, Griner wasn't even at practice yesterday.  Melissa Jones was there, but no real practicing for her, just helping out.  Coach Mulkey isn't shy about her dislike of how late the Big 12 Championships are in relation to the NCAA Tournament, but somehow her teams typically do well.  And it's not like they are unfamiliar with injuries going into the post-season.  Just look to last year, Danielle Wilson goes out late in the regular season, and the Lady Bears take home the Big 12 Trophy.  This is a new look bunch though, no Allison's or Player's to lean on this season.  That being said, this crop of freshmen come in not knowing a thing about post-season pressure, which they can definitely use to their advantage.

Yesterday was overwhelming with so much basketball, but after today I won't be able to shut my eyes without seeing a bouncing ball.

We're not done yet, check back for more!
