CBS Shows In & Out

Now this is not official.  This is one of those "According to reports" kind of stories.  But it's being reported in several places so here we go.

News of what shows would be coming back to CBS started leaking out and it states that "How I Met Your Mother" is coming back.  Thanks Britney!

Another comedy coming back is "The New Adventures of Old Christine," which was ready to move to ABC if it got cancelled.  And "Rules of Engagement" is now off the bubble as it looks like it will be coming back.

While the comedies did OK, the dramas didn't fare as well.  "Moonlight," the vampire show on Friday nights, is not coming back.  Now the fans of the show organized a blood drive earlier this year to try to help save the show.  That's dedication, but alas it didn't work.  The show averaged around seven million viewers.  In contrast, the show in that time slot last year that was cancelled ("Close To Home") averaged around ten million viewers.

The James Woods courtroom drama "Shark" has been cancelled.  While it did great when it followed "CSI:" last year, it lost three millions viewers when it moved to Sunday nights this season.

And then there's "The Unit."  Averaging over eleven million viewers.  And no post strike episodes were ordered.  Not good signs.

But it doesn't matter.  Looks like the show will be coming back.  Good news for the stars of the show, who right now are on a USO tour in Kuwait.

More details tomorrow when the official schedule comes out.
