The show "NCIS" is like the little engine that could. It's one of the few shows that has actually gained viewers as the years have gone by. It was in 26th place during the first season on the air; in season six, it's ranking is five. And considering that the show goes up against "American Idol" many times in the spring, that's pretty impressive.
What you may not know is that "NCIS" is actually a spinoff. It was introduced as part of an episode of "JAG," the naval trial show that was on CBS for several years. Now "NCIS" is prepared to have a spinoff of its own.
The working ti
tle for the show is "NCIS: Legend." Details are slim to find but we do know a couple of the stars involved. The two biggest names are Chris O'Donnell (he played Robin in one of the Batman movies) and rapper LL Cool J, who has a decent resume of acting roles.
O'Donnell and LL were the first actors to climb aboard the high profile project, but it looks like the other supporting roles have been filled out as well. The new team will be introduced in an episode of "NCIS" that will air later this season. The new show will start up in the fall. before being launched into their own show next fall.
So what do you think? Will another "NCIS" take away from the original or will it get along just fine like the three versions of "CSI:" do?
