TBL is DOA

The CW freshman model-drama is the first show to go bye-bye.

The name of this year’s first cancelled show is…”The Beautiful Life.” The CW show, produced by actor Ashton Kutcher, was cut after two episodes. The debut episode last week lost over half of the audience of the lead-in show, “America’s Next Top Model.” Since “TBL” was a drama about models, this did not bode well. The second (and final) episode brought in just one million viewers. Production has ceased and right now there are no plans to air the six or so remaining episodes that have already been produced. Encore airings of the new drama “Melrose Place” (which is not doing all that well either by the way) will replace “TBL” for the time being. So what show will be the second one to go? After week one, the smart money is on “Accidentally on Purpose” on CBS, “Parks and Recreation” on NBC, or maybe “The Forgotten” on ABC. We’ll see what happens next.
