(October 23, 2006)—A soldier assigned to the 4th Infantry Division’s Multinational Division Baghdad was listed as “duty status-whereabouts unknown” Monday and may have been abducted, according to a CNN reporter embedded with troops in Baghdad.

Another soldier who vanished in a 2004 insurgent attack has never been found.

Two who disappeared in June were later found dead.

The disappearance comes after a deadly weekend for US troops.

Three Multinational Division Baghdad soldiers died Sunday in separate roadside bombings in Baghdad.

Three other Multinational Division Baghdad soldiers died in separate small arms attacks Sunday.

A Marine assigned to Regimental Combat Team 5 died Saturday during operations in Iraq’s volatile Anbar province.
