AR-15 Stolen From Gun Lobbyist’s Car

SALT LAKE CITY (March 29, 2013)--A semi-automatic rifle belonging to Clark Aposhian, the head of Utah’s biggest gun lobby, has been stolen, police in Cottonwood Heights, Utah said.

The AR-15 rifle was stolen late Wednesday or early Thursday from a locked car parked in the driveway of Aposhian’s home.

Cottonwood Heights police Sgt. Scott Peck said someone broke into the vehicle sometime during the night, stealing the car stereo along with the weapon.

Aposhian, who is chairman of the Utah Shooting Sports Council, says the gun was unloaded and stored in a secure box.

He said no ammunition was stored with the weapon.

Aposhian told Deseret News he stores and handles his guns safely and hopes police catch the thief.
