Jeb Bush To Head National Constitution Center

PHILADELPHIA (December 6, 20120--Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush is taking on a job once held by his father as he becomes chairman of the National Constitution Center.

Former President George H. W. Bush served as chairman of the Philadelphia museum from 2007-2008.

Another former president, Bill Clinton, has held the position for the last four years.

Jeb Bush, who served as a Republican governor of Florida from 1999-2007, said he hopes to fill "a critical void in our country" as he carries out the Constitution Center's mission of improving civic education and engagement.

Clinton and the elder Bush are recipients of the institution's annual Liberty Medal, honored for their humanitarian work with disaster victims.

The center has been open since 2003 on Independence Mall.
