Obama Confident In Storm Preparations

Print

WASHINGTON (October 29, 2012)--President Barack Obama said Monday he's confident that federal, state and local governments have done all they can to prepare for the superstorm that’s barreling up the East Coast.

He said the slow-moving storm will affect millions of people, and he urged Americans to heed warnings.

Speaking from the White House briefing room, Mr. Obama said the key is to make sure the public is following instructions to take precautions.

A week from Election Day, he says he's not worried about the impact of the storm on his re-election chances and he said the first priority is to make sure lives are saved.
