Obama, Romney Campaign Hard In Ohio

Print

COLUMBUS, Ohio (October 10, 2012)--Bolstered by a strong debate performance, Republican Mitt Romney is intensifying his efforts in the key state of Ohio.

He told a rally in Cuyahoga Falls Tuesday night, "Ohio's going to elect me the next president of the United States."

President Barack Obama also campaigned hard Tuesday in Ohio, calling out to students at Ohio State University, "All right, Buckeyes, we need you."

Tuesday was last day of voter registration in the state and with Election Day now just four weeks away, Obama's campaign had buses nearby, ready to ferry students or other supporters to registration centers.

There were signs the president's advantage in Ohio is narrowing as a new CNN poll showed Mr. Obama leading Romney 51 percent to 47 percent among likely voters in the Buckeye State.

Some Republican strategists say the race is even closer.

No Republican has won the presidency without winning Ohio.
